MOTOCHIC
KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN VIDEO / WEB PROMO

Debra Chin founded MotoChic Gear in 2013 to answer the need for high quality, design-conscious clothing and accessories for women who ride motorcycles. Our initial meetings happened before the official launch of her company. She had done extensive market research and was in the process of organizing a crowd-funding campaign. Our job was to create a video that would effectively convey the message of her campaign. From the start, we wanted to not only produce a crowd-funding video, but to recycle that footage into a promo that Motochic could use after the end of the campaign. The campaign's goal was set at $30,000, and it was a success.

The goal of this campaign wasn't just to sell a product, but to address the fact that the needs of women who ride weren't being met. The major manufacturers' approach to designing motorcycle gear for women has been to take designs for men's gear and "shrink it and pink it". This fashionable, form fitting bag is appealing enough on it's own, but we wanted to sell something bigger than the bag. We wanted to sell the opportunity to affect change on a market that wasn't giving women what they deserve.

Motochic - Kickstarter Campaign

Reaching the funding goal was our number one objective, but we knew that the Kickstarter video would be obsolete once the campaign was finished. With that in mind, we planned to make a web promo film from the footage gathered for the campaign video.
